A new State of Play, the digital event dedicated to products coming to Sony consoles, focused on the games being worked on by Japanese development teams, most of which will be cross-platform.
Among the most important announcements of the event, Namco Bandai’s new free to play shooter, Gundam Revolution, was presented, followed by the announcement of Valkyrie Elysium, the new title of the acclaimed Square Enix series that will arrive in the course of 2022 on PS4, PS5, and PC.
The State Of Play. Still a few PS5s available, but the games are on their way
Not too much news, but some really interesting titles. While most are cross-platform, some games are starting to squeeze PS5’s potential for good. In the end, a mid-tasty Sony State of Play.
Let’s see the most interesting ones among those that were announced at the latest State Of Play made by Sony.
Gundam Evolution
Gundam Evolution is a new free-to-play shooter by Bandai Namco in which you will be able to pilot the Mobile Suits of the legendary animated series in 6v6 objective-based battles.
At the launch of the game, there will be three modes (Capture, Domination, and Destruction) and 12 initial Mobile Suits, each with unique attacks and equipment that can be piloted for free. Without limiting a specific class, you can freely select a style of your favorite Suits to suit your game and team needs.
Gundam Evolution will then be a Boost and self-repair system, which will consist of recovering the unit’s PV components, all composed of repair points – strategically placed – which will allow you to vary the team and combat tactics.
The title will arrive on consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and PC) by the end of 2022. Learn more about the Gundam Saga here.
The DioField Chronicle
The DioField Chronicle is an epic tale of war and honor. Featuring a unique and beautiful world that blends fantasy, medieval and modern-day influences with a deep yet innovative real-time battle system.
It is a Real-Time Tactical Battle featuring a realistic and immersive story set in a unique and fascinating world that mixes fantasy, medieval and modern influences.
In terms of gameplay, the game will offer an engaging experience with an innovative tactical system, the battles of the game are determined by the conditions of the battlefield and by the issuance of decisive orders to better manage the forces. You can use the different skills, classes, and equipment wisely to complete the missions.
It will be available in 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Valkyrie Elysium
Valkyrie Elysium is a fresh entry in the acclaimed Valkyrie series that depicts the end of humanity and their encounters with the gods through a unique world inspired by Norse mythology.
Featuring an epic story, beautiful landscapes, and a fast-paced Valkyrie Elysium system, it will lead players into an action RPG that will test your speed of thought and reaction. The game takes place in the distant past, in a world where Ragnarok – the End Times – looms large upon the realms.
Valkyrie Elysium also incorporates elements of the Valkyrie series’ classic gameplay, such as the Einherjar – recruitable warriors who will join the hero and fight at her side when summoned. It’s a beautiful game, too, with incredible art design that captures the spirit of the series in an exciting, modern way. On PS5, it’s also running in 4K and 60 FPS, making for an adventure that looks and feels beautifully crisp.
