Fairphone is preparing to put on the market a new version of its “ethical” smartphone, that is, with a controlled, modular supply chain – and therefore easily repairable and upgradeable from the hardware point of view – and made with partly recycled material.
The information available is still limited, however, we can rely on what is reported in the Swiss seller’s price list. Fairphone 4 is identified with the model number F4FPHN and is compatible with new generation networks: it is a first for the Dutch company. We are not sure that the variants shown in the image leaked on the net are the only ones available, the fact is that the internal memory will be, in this case, 128 and 256 GB while we have no information regarding the RAM.

The back cover of the Fairphone 4 can still be removed and, of course, the battery can still be changed this way. With a completely flat 6.3-inch screen and offering a slightly stretched Full HD resolution, the Fairphone 4 5G will also deliver good picture quality.
These are the technical indications given by the source:
- removable battery
- metal shell
- 6.3 Flat FHD LCD display
- 5G connectivity
- fingerprint sensor
- 48 MP main camera with OIS second sensor
- Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G
- Android 11
The images at our disposal also make it clear that it will be an LCD panel: the fingerprint reader is obviously located in the power button of the Fairphone 4 and no longer centrally on the back. Such a design is common to many smartphones equipped in this way, although this obviously does not guarantee 100% that an OLED panel will not be installed.
The new Fairphone 4 5G should be presented on the 30th of September and should be priced at around 600 euros.
